Some businesses in Calgary are having a little fun with the oil downturn. A fitness studio, a tavern and a matchmaker are among those to make cheeky references to low oil prices in their ads and promotions recently. Kendra Hart teaches marketing at Mount Royal University in Calgary. She says that approach works well for businesses that have to do with pleasure or fun. (Barcelona Tavern has a Wine about Oil promotion on, with bottles 20 per cent off until oil hits 70-dollars a barrel.)
