A review is underway into Alberta's payday loan regulations. The current legislation expires next June and the government will begin its review with online surveys. Although Service Alberta Minister Deron Bilous stopped short of accusing some of the companies of taking advantage of vulnerable Albertans, Alberta Liberal leader David Swann says it is happening. (Alberta payday loan companies charge can charge up to 23 dollars interest on every 100 dollars borrowed.)
