Police in Halifax are apologizing for mistakes they made in investigating the Rehtaeh Parsons case. Acting Chief Superintendent Dennis Daley of the RCMP was responding to the findings of an independent report into the police and prosecution service's handling of the matter. He says they have made changes to address those shortcomings. (Parsons' family alleged she was sexually assaulted in November 2011 when she was 15. However, today's review by Murray Segal found it was reasonable for the Crown to conclude there was no realistic prospect that sexual assault charges would result in conviction.)
