Prime Minister Stephen Harper says an audit of Syrian refugee applications was ordered simply to ensure the most vulnerable were being selected -- without compromising national security. A CTV News report, citing unnamed sources, says the Prime Minister's Office was actively discouraging the Department of Citizenship and Immigration from accepting Sunni or Shia Muslims. As he unveiled his party's full election platform in Richmond, B-C, Harper told reporters that refugees who are most at risk are given a higher priority. (A furious Justin Trudeau says a Liberal government would "absolutely not" prioritize religious and ethnic minorities.)
