The NDP promises to make international trade negotiations more open to public scrutiny. The pledge is contained in the party's full policy platform, released today in Montreal. It aims to capitalize on criticism of the Harper government over recent Trans-Pacific trade talks. NDP Leader Tom Mulcair says the TPP will cost thousands of Canadians their jobs. (Mulcair says he would re-negotiate the TPP to get a better deal for Canadians, comparing his stance to that of US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. She announced her opposition to the 12-country deal earlier this week.)
