The B-C Treaty Commission says more than half of the province's First Nations have either completed treaties or are participating in the process. Acting chief commissioner Celeste Haldane says the high participation rate highlights the success of the treaty process in B-C. She says it also shows what types of opportunities are available to First Nations who haven't yet signed on. (Four B-C First Nations have signed preliminary treaty agreements in the last fiscal year.)
