Ten people were injured in a violent attack early yesterday at a First Nations band office near Lillooet, B-C. Five people remain in hospital and two of them are in critical condition. The unidentified attacker died at the scene after he was restrained by staff. Susan James, the chief of the Bridge River Band, says it's hard to fathom what happened. (An emergency worker who didn't want to be identified says the man apparently attacked one person with the hammer, and when others in the office went to help, they were also beaten. James says the injured workers were in three different offices.)
