Stephen Harper paused before a campaign speech in Quebec tonight to pay tribute to former Canadian ambassador Ken Taylor. Taylor, who sheltered six U.S. citizens during the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, died today at the age of 81, (Harper was campaigning in the riding of Megantic-L'Erable, which has been held by the Conservatives, but current MP and cabinet minister Christian Paradis is not running again. NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is expected to visit the riding tomorrow.)
