There is a record number of aboriginal students at the University of Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon-based school says official fall enrolment numbers confirm that 2,236 students self-declared as aboriginal. Patti McDougall, vice-provost of teaching and learning, says the numbers fill her with hope. (Projections released by Statistics Canada in September show that nearly one in five Saskatchewan residents will be aboriginal by 2036.)
