A Canadian soldier is recovering from injuries suffered in a nighttime live-fire training exercise at an Alberta military base. The military says he was injured late Monday night or early yesterday morning at a training facility near Wainwright. Army spokesman Fraser Logan says he understands the exercise involved small arms. (The soldier, whose name has not been released, is a member of the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, based in Edmonton. He was taken to the Wainwright hospital before being transferred to Edmonton. Logan says the soldier has since been in touch with his family.)
