Officials and civilians have gathered at the National War Memorial to honour two soldiers who died in uniform at the hands of attackers. Corporal Nathan Cirillo died a year ago today at the War Memorial. Two days before that, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was run down in Quebec. Governor General David Johnston noted it was not just the soldiers who were atttacked, but Parliament itself. (Also on hand for the commemoration was outgoing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Prime-Minister-Designate Justin Trudeau.)
