A former B-C resident living on the West Coast of Mexico says her community came together to prepare for what was supposed to be one of the worst hurricanes in history. April Miton says neighbours helped each other board up windows and took in people who were evacuated from their homes before Hurricane Patricia came ashore. (The Category Five storm made landfall yesterday, but quickly weakened and broke up, sparing the gale-force winds and torrential rains that had been expected.)
