Peter Stoffer, a longtime New Democrat MP who lost his seat last Monday, says his party should consider a name change -- dropping the word "new" and becoming the Democratic party. He also says the NDP should look at separating its federal and provincial wings. (Stoffer also said the party should abandon the 1961 agreement that brought the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and the Canadian Labour Congress together to form the NDP.)
