B-C Premier Christy Clark hailed the courage of the Ahousaht First Nation in rescuing people when a whale-watching boat capsized on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Rescuers used radio phones to communicate when the vessel carrying 27 people went down on Sunday. The area needs better cell phone service, and Clark has promised it will be among the communities that will get it. (Five Britons died in the tragedy and one person from Australia is still missing.)
