Winnipeg police say a man suspected of killing his estranged wife killed himself after being pursued by officers. Camille Runke (run-kee), who was 49, was shot Friday morning in Winnipeg. Deputy Chief Danny Smyth says she had a protection order against her estranged husband, Kevin Runke (run-kee). Although she contacted police 22 times to report violations of the protection order, Smyth says there was no indication of violence. (Smyth says officers were pursuing him as a person of interest south of Winnipeg Monday when he veered off into a wooded area. Smyth says police called for backup and eventually found Runke dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car.)
