Canaport LNG L-P has pleaded guilty to two charges in connection with the death of about 75-hundred birds that flew into a burning flare at a gas facility in New Brunswick. A provincial court judge ordered the company to pay 750-thousand dollars which will be distributed to numerous environmental and wildlife organizations. Heather Fawns, operations manager with Environment Canada says the federal Crown prosecutor worked hard to make that happen. (A third charge was dropped. Charges against two other companies Irving Canaport G-P and Repsol Canada were also dropped.)
