Alberta Premier Rachel Notley isn't crazy about the language Barack Obama used in his remarks about they Keystone X-L pipeline. When he announced today he is rejecting the pipeline proposal, the American president disparaged Alberta oil as "dirtier, crude oil." But Notley admits the rejection of the pipeline highlights the need to improve Canada's environmental record. (Keystone would have handled nearly one-quarter of all the Canadian oil exports to the United States. Obama says the pipeline is not in the US national interest and says it would not have led to more jobs and lower gas prices.)
