Remembrance Day is an emotional time for former Canadian Air Force veteran John Melbourne. The onetime Flight lieutlived through the Second World War and joined the air force in the 1950s. He turns 80 later this month and says it concerns him that the number of living Second World War veterans continues to drop by the week. (Melbourne says he is encouraged that younger Canadians have a renewed interest in Remembrance Day, which he credits to the attention generated by the war in Afghanistan.)
