A British Columbia judge has handed a 23-year sentence to a man convicted of trafficking nearly a dozen teenage girls for sex. Reza Moazami was convicted last year of 30 charges and is the first person in the province found guilty of human trafficking. Crown lawyer Damienne Darby says she hopes the harsh sentence sends a message. (Moazami will serve just under 18 years after getting five years' credit for time already spent behind bars awaiting trial.)
