The federal budget watchdog is predicting the Trudeau government will have to contend with bigger-than-expected baseline deficits in the coming years as it rolls out its promised spending plans. Canadian Press reporter Terry Pedwell says the parliamentary budget office has downgraded its economic outlook for Canada as the country grapples with weaker growth and lower revenues. (Without factoring in those election promises, the PBO says it expects shortfalls of three billion dollars next year, and deficits in the range of four-and-a half to five billion dollars in each of the following three years.)
