A ban on tanker traffic along B-C 's north coast could mean the end to Enbridge's Northern Gateway pipeline. The plan involves sending crude from the Edmonton area to the port of Kitimat B-C where oil would be loaded onto tankers and shipped to Asia. There's been fierce opposition to another pipeline and tanker proposal planned for the Vancouver area. Ian Anderson heads up the Canadian division of Kinder Morgan, the company behind Trans Mountain Expansion. He says the Port of Vancouver is well equipped to deal with an increase in tanker traffic. (The tanker ban was outlined in a mandate letter from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Transport Minister Marc Garneau.)
