Manitoba is introducing legislation that would require universities to bring in policies to prevent and respond to sexual violence. Education Minister James Allum says the proposed law would require post-secondary institutions to develop the policies in consultation with students. Allum says the goal is to make campuses safer and protect students from sexual harassment. (University of Winnipeg president Annette Trimbee says such legislation would make Manitoba a leader in Canada in addressing sexual misconduct.)
