The Muslim community of Halifax will be hosting a Hijab Day celebration aimed at answering questions about the cultural headdress. Attendees will be able to try on a hijab and there will be a discussion about the hijab to help clear up misconceptions. Dr. Abdelkader Tayebi is expected to speak at the event Saturday. He says the hijab has become a national issue. (Tayebi says the event will be held Saturday at noon at the Central Library in Halifax.)
