B-C Opposition New Democrat Jennifer Rice says the provincial government should stop stalling when it comes to supporting a shuttle bus service along the so-called Highway of Tears in northern B-C. Since the 1970s, 18 women have been murdered or have vanished while using the highway and its adjacent routes. Rice says former B-C attorney general Wally Oppal called for improved transportation services along the notorious Highway 16 corridor from Prince George to Prince Rupert three years ago. (First Nations leaders and municipal and provincial officials are meeting in Smithers later in the week to discuss transportation issues along the highway.)
