Governor General David Johnston has issued a rallying cry for Canadians to welcome refugees who are fleeing the conflict in Syria. Johnston says the impending arrival of refugees in the next few months will test the country's commitment to diversity, inclusiveness and tolerance. But Immigration Minister John McCallum told a governor general's panel that he's concerned the momentum toward encouraging Canadians to accept refugees will diminish if the government doesn't properly communicate how people can help. (Canada is expected to take in about 25-thousand refugees by the end of February.)
