A union's snub of a government ultimatum over a contract has seen the Nova Scotia government adopt a more conciliatory tone. Deputy premier Diana Whalen responded by downplaying the ultimatum and saying there is no time frame for a vote as far as the government is concerned. Acting NDP leader Maureen MacDonald says the government is mishandling labour relations.
