The union representing Victoria police officers says the chief needs to be removed over a breach of trust that affects the entire membership. Chief Frank Elsner said earlier this week he was sorry and humiliated after exchanging direct messages with a woman on Twitter. Acting union president Sergeant Glen Shiels says the big issue for members is not about the Police Act. (The Victoria and Esquimalt (ess-KWY'-malt) Police Board gave its full support for Elsner's leadership after findings of an investigation by an independent lawyer were presented to the board last week.)
