The Conservatives are pushing the Trudeau government to promise a referendum on any proposal to overhaul the electoral system. But Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the government will "consult widely" with Canadians about any proposed changes to the electoral system. In the Commons today, Trudeau admonished the Conservatives for leaving Canadians in the dark while they were in power. (Interim Tory leader Rona Ambrose told the House that all Canadians should have a say about any major changes to the country's democratic system.)
