An effort to ease panhandling in downtown Fredericton has people plugging their spare change into six so-called "kindness meters." The used parking meters have been painted green and mounted on sidewalks in the downtown business district. Bruce McCormack, general manager of Downtown Fredericton Incorporated says many people want to give to panhandlers but are concerned how the money will be used. (Chris Moore, who's been panhandling in Fredericton for more than a year, says he has to pay to stay in the homeless shelter, and needs the money people give directly to him in order to survive.)
