Conservation officers are searching for a cheetah seen near a school in southeastern British Columbia. The big cat was spotted along Highway 3A yesterday about 4:30 p-m in the Crawford Bay and Kootenay Bay areas. Inspector Joe Caravetta with the B-C Conservation Officer Services says three officers are hunting for both the cat and its owner. (Caravetta says that if the cheetah is found, officers will use a tranquilizer to immobilize the animal.)
