British Columbia's Conservation Officer Service is no longer looking for a missing cheetah last spotted wandering along a highway in the province's Interior. Inspector Joe Caravetta says the big cat was seen on Thursday wandering near Crawford Bay in the Kootenay region but that no confirmed sightings have been reported since. Caravetta says even though the search has been called off, the investigation is ongoing. (Caravetta says there is no immediate danger to the public. As for the cheetah surviving the cold weather, he says it doesn't look good for the animal if someone hasn't already picked it up.)
