A 35-year-old American man will be spending Christmas in a Toronto jail after what police are describing as an unprovoked machete attack. Arlington Thompson of Queens, New York is due back in court next week on charges including attempted murder as a 30-year-old man recovers from serious head and leg injuries. Security guards helped contain the situation and Paragon Security vice-president Ted Salter is praising their efforts. (Police are asking witnesses to come forward as they continue their investigation.)
