Friends of a Fort St. John man severely injured in a dog attack on Christmas night say he remains in good spirits in an Edmonton hospital. Kim Babcock says Robin Elgie's arms were shredded as he tried to fend off two large dogs that pushed their way into his trailer home while chasing one of Elgie's pets. The dogs also repeatedly bit Elgie's 51-year-old partner Wendy Lee Baker -- known as Lee -- but she managed to barricade herself in another room and call for help. Babcock says Elgie knows his injuries are life-altering. (Babcock launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for the couple and it has surpassed its goal in barely 24 hours. But Babcock says she'll let it run because Elgie doesn't have much and faces a long, difficult recovery.)
