An advocate for missing and murdered indigenous women says a planned federal inquiry into the issue must be focused on aboriginal women's equality. Fay Blaney met with Aboriginal Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett in Vancouver this week and says the focus appears to be on the families of slain or disappeared women. (Blaney says the inquiry needs to start from a feminist perspective and examine the barriers to equality for aboriginal women, including their experiences with male violence.)
