Preview Clip

The sentencing hearing for the mentally ill Nova Scotia man who killed gay rights activist Raymond Taavel has been adjourned until late February. Andre Noel Denny pleaded guilty to manslaughter in November. Crown attorney James Giacomantonio (JACK-man-tone-ee-oh) says it was agreed that Denny will receive credit for six years in custody after spending four years in jail. (An agreed statement of facts says Denny failed to return to a psychiatric facility after receiving an unescorted pass on April 16th, 2012. It says Denny was impaired by alcohol and crack cocaine when he got into an argument with Taavel and slammed his face into the pavement.)
