Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited a northern Saskatchewan community today, one week after a shooter opened fire at a home and a school, killing four people and wounding seven. Trudeau met with the injured, family members of the dead, and then spoke to about 700 residents at a town hall meeting. Mayor Kevin Janvier told the crowd he asked Trudeau and Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall for a minimum 10 years worth of funding to help the community with education, housing, health and infrastructure. (Trudeau told reporters that he came to listen and his government wants to be a partner with indigenous people to come up with solutions.)
