Manitoba Liberals are promising more money for the arts if they win the April 19th provincial election, but are offering few details. Liberal Leader Rana Bokhari (RAH'-nah boh-KARR'-ee) says she would set up an advisory council on the arts, which would help the government shape a new policy on arts and culture. She also says a Liberal government would use some of the infrastructure money normally spent on roads and bridges to build or improve cultural facilities. But she's not ready to say how much. (The Liberals have only one seat in the legislature, but are hoping for a breakthrough after rising sharply in opinion polls.)
