Quebec's provincial police say that a police officer from a local force was fatally shot in the line of duty last night in Lac Simon, 170 kilometres northwest of Montreal. Sergeant Claude Denis says it happened when officers responded to a domestic call. (Another person was pronounced dead inside the home, and police say that they believe that person may have shot himself.)
