Officials from Bombardier and Air Canada held a joint news conference this morning to trumpet the airline's plans to buy as many as 75 C-Series jets. Air Canada President and CEO Calin Rovinescu (KAY'-lin roh-vin-ES'-kyoo) says the C-S-300 will allow Air Canada to compete more effectively. (Bombardier shares shot up about 15 per cent in early trading on the Toronto market, after the company announced its latest earnings and seven-thousand job cuts, mostly in its rail division.)
