More than 50 people rallied today outside the county office in Thorhild north of Edmonton to show support for three councillors fired by the province. Reeve Dan Buryn (BURR-in) and councillors Wayne Croswell and Larry Sisson were dismissed last week over concerns about council infighting, conflict of interest and poor decision-making. Rally organizer Kathleen Bruce says the government was wrong to fire the councillors. (A judge granted the three councillors a temporary injunction to stay on the job pending the results of a court challenge to be heard in Edmonton tomorrow.)
