Some Canadian and American scientists are skeptical of Sweden's claim that an all-out trade ban is needed to head off an invasion of lobsters from eastern North America. Boris Worm, a biologist at Dalhousie University, says it's hard to gauge what kind of risk is posed if it's not known how many lobsters have been released into the wild. (Sweden says the imports threaten the survival of their smaller European cousins through inter-breeding and deadly diseases in cases where they have been released in local waters.)
