Vancouver Police dog handlers have converted their overtime hours into a 13-hundred dollar donation to help the B-C SPCA handle vet bills for 66 dogs seized from a Langley puppy mill in early February. The society says the officers challenged other K9 units around the province to make similar donations, although that hasn't happened yet. But BC SPCA spokeswoman Lorie Chortyk says every donated penny is appreciated. (Although 66 dogs were seized on February 9th, the total number of animals has grown to 88, thanks to the arrival of 22 puppies -- including 10 born over the Easter weekend.)
