An emergency evening debate was left in the House of Commons about the suicide crisis on a remote northern Ontario First Nation. Conservative MP Rachel Harder of Lethbridge raised some eyebrows when she suggested that "putting another third government program in place," isn't the best plan of action. New Democrat Charlie Angus, whose riding includes the troubled Attawapiskat (att-uh-WAH'-piss-kat) First Nation, replied by saying the Tories let indigenous people down each year while in government. (Angus called Harder's comments, "a lot of claptrap.")
