Manitoba's opposition parties say they are concerned some important issues will be overlooked in the new, smaller Progressive Conservative cabinet. Brian Pallister was sworn-in today as premier and revealed a cabinet of 12 ministers -- down from 18 under the previous NDP government. Some ministerial titles have disappeared or been merged with others. Leader Rana Bokhari (RAH'-nah boh-KARR'-ee) questions the merger of Indigenous issues with municipal affairs. (There are also no longer ministers of labour, children and youth opportunities or healthy living. Those roles are absorbed by larger departments.)
