Albertans are reaching out to help evacuees who have fled the fire that has ravaged Fort McMurray. People have been opening their homes, cupboards and wallets since the city's 80-thousand residents were told to flee yesterday. Char (SHAR) Kaye is packing up toothbrushes, toys and blankets and offering up rooms in her Spruce Grove home to strangers. She says she had to do something to help. (Social media is rife with offers of free meals, tire repairs, pet food and even graduation gowns for high school students who have lost theirs in the fire. The Red Cross says it's also ramping up its call centre to deal with a flood of monetary donations.)
