The Earls restaurant chain has reversed a decision to sell only Certified Humane beef from Kansas after a social media backlash. Earls president Mo Jessa says the chain decided to buy from only one US supplier because it was easier. But after listening to Alberta beef producers, Jessa says the chain will put in the effort to buy from multiple suppliers. (Jessa says Earls is still committed to meeting the standards of the Certified Humane program, but it will also buy from Canadian producers if they meet the same criteria though a different program.)
