Preview Clip

Wildfires that levelled neighbourhoods in Fort McMurray have slowed their rampage through the tinder-dry forest in northern Alberta. That's allowing firefighters in the oilpatch city to focus on hotspots in advance of a first-hand look today by Alberta Premier Rachel Notley. Canadian Press reporter Ken Trimble says Notley is expected to witness a patchwork of mass destruction. (As of yesterday, the blaze had grown to about 16-hundred square kilometres, but authorities hope cooler temperatures this week will give firefighters the upper hand.)
