Alberta beef rancher Ben Campbell says McDonald's took the right approach when it chose to work with the Canadian industry to build up its supply of sustainable beef -- as opposed to Earls, which initially switched to Certified Humane meat from the US. Campbell says companies are trying to cater to millennials, who are more concerned about where their food comes from. (Earls reversed its decision after a social media backlash, and it now says it will work to find Alberta suppliers of ethically-raised beef.)
