The Fort McMurray wildfires and an unplanned shutdown at an Edmonton refinery are leading to shortages at Suncor's Petro-Canada stations across Western Canada. The company is reporting lower diesel and especially lower gasoline supplies at Petro-Canada sites in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, as well as sites in the British Columbia interior. Suncor spokeswoman Sneh Seetal (sah-NAY' SEE'-tahl) says the combined effects of lower crude supplies and refinery capacity are causing the shortages. (Seetal says it's hard to determine when supplies will return to normal but that Suncor is bringing in extra fuel supplies by truck and rail to help fill the gap.)
