A Newfoundland man is telling a tale of a frightening encounter with a pack of killer whales. Norm Strickland says while out fishing on Saturday, orcas surrounded and charged his 5.5-metre boat near Burgeo. He says he was cod fishing with his daughter, Elizabeth, and his dog when he spotted an unusual tall, black fin around 45 metres away. (Strickland's dog, Sadie, tried to protect her owners by baring her teeth and barking at the large predators.)
